News & Updates Q1

Where. Do. I. Start.

As a new gallery. I could not be more thrilled to share the success that has been this year so far!

Pivot to Online & event based

Opening in August 23, we started strong in the Del Mar Gallery, with in-person sales and limited online sales it made sense. As we grew our online presence and started selling $10k + works site unseen, we realized there was no need to keep the physical location. As of March 1st 24 we are an online and event based gallery, giving us the ability to be diverse and agile in our curation and expression.

Collaborations

We will be collaborating with a number of incredible people who have a broad range of talents and visions Inconspicuous would like to support. This includes and is not limited to:

  • Charitable donations with each purchase going to a cause chosen by the artist

  • Open and limited edition art with 100% of proceeds going to a cause chosen by the artist

  • Pop up events in London & LA

  • We have accepted an invitation to join one of the most impactful art collectives in existence. This will now enable us to provide you with direct access to some of the most talented and impactful artists of tomorrow.

artist Mr. Sly

At the start of 2024 we welcomed UK Artist Mr. Sly! Thank you so much for all of the positive feedback and support for this artist’s work! We are making plans for a collaboration show with a VERY well-known artist we know and appreciate (to be announced) in LA so be sure to join the mailing list if you want early access.

Joe Taveras In LA

Congratulations to Joe Taveras for a truly disruptive presentation! His work showing the transition from what was, to what will be, is raw and energized. The audience were engaged and open to the artists at the show and some insightful questions were asked and answered.

Joe answered a question about his process with an explanation of astral projection to visit a friend and returning to find the canvas completely transformed from an older green acrylic work to a new entity indeed, with darker oil paints! He showed us pictures of what it was before and we could all see the new work on display. It’s beautifully mystifying!

This answer encapsulates the essence of Joe’s process, which is more about getting out of the way than making something happen.

PArting ways with Artsy

After giving the online art platform ARTSY a few months and a few tasks, we have decided it is not a good fit and will be completing any final orders and closing down Inconspicuous Art Gallery’s presence on the site by May/June 2024.

Our decision is based on many factors which include customer service, value for money, and the overall goals of the gallery.
